Couple of recent pieces:
Jean-Claude Trichet's (can you tell we're getting to be fans?) talk in Syndey, Australia on Feb 9 "...the lessons to draw from central bank experience over the past half century." He's making arguments for a particular set or flavor of lessons learned. Not sure I get enough of it to have a real opinion, but he's one of, if not the most, cogent people talking this stuff.
Bob Herbert's Feb 9 NY Times Op Ed. In which he makes the case that most of the people in country earning less than $150k annually are getting wiped out. Some real numbers, and real consequences possible if they're accurate. A major theme not generally getting a lot of airtime.
Both worth a look.
